The Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR) is an informal political understanding among states seeking to limit the proliferation of missiles and missile technology. The MTCR was established in 1987 by the G-7 industrialised countries (Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States) and currently has 35 members. In 2017, the MTCR issued a handbook of its control list of missile-related dual-use goods, equipment and technology.
